2021-present: Co-applicant and co-project leader of the research project “New forms of governing environmental sustainability and interconnected food security risks”, MISTRA Geopolitics program, funded by the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Environmental Research, University of Osnabrück.
2020-present: Co-applicant and co-project leader of the research project “Bringing the social dimension into deforestation-free supply chain initiatives”, funded by FORMAS (Sweden), University of Osnabrück. 
2017-2021: Post-doctoral researcher in the project “Environmental governance in telecoupled systems of inter-regional connectedness”, Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG), University of Osnabrück (headed by Andrea Lenschow and Jens Newig) 
- Case study on the socio-environmental impacts of the soy trade between Brazil and Europe, with a focus on governance and sustainable transformation
